I now know that if Jack starts screaming, he’s tired.
He was playing with his trucks because he likes to keep them in rows, then started saying , “No” to everything I tried to do with him. Then the screaming with the crying started.
I gave up in the idea of lunch and got him upstairs. Tried to rock him and calm him but in the end he wanted milk and fell asleep in bed with his bottle.
Don’t know what I’m doing. Now I’ve bought a domain and a new template so I can mess with Blogger again. I must be feeling nostalgic.
Jack has a cold, so we’ve opted for an at home family day for Sunday rather than going to swim lessons. After the pandemic made us not be able to do any classes, I feel guilty keeping him home but I didn’t want him feeling bad next week and then my having to be off work again because one of us was sick.
So hopefully the day at home will help him get well sooner. He just has a cough and a snotty nose, so being warm in the house is hopefully a better option. It rained yesterday when we were out picking pumpkins, so I’m sure that didn’t help matters.
Now Steve is swapping locations of my computer and his work computer while Jack, Daisy, and I watch Mickey’s Club House on Disney +. Having a day at home is nice once in a while, even if we were forced to be at home for months last year.
Jack’s asleep on me as I type this. We went to the pick your own pumpkin patch today which was fun even though it rained. Jack was so happy and kept saying. “Wow! Apples!” He was fascinated with the little carnival ride they had there too but I think it cost cash money so we didn’t go on it. (I never have cash anymore.)
I didn’t write or do homework or anything today. I was so tired because last night I was up at around 3:45 because I’d had too much coffee in the afternoon. Usually I only have two cups in the morning.
I’ve been playing with the templates on this blog and nothing is making me feel settled. I wish I could see that old blog again and know exactly how I had it set up.
For some reason I vaguely remember having a blog with a black background and pink hearts on the wallpaper. Then I had photos of my black nail polish. Very classy.
My bullet journal didn’t get ordered and I’m sort of annoyed about that. Notebook Therapy has a lot of stuff that won’t ship here.
I’ve said this before: I used to have a pink blog on Blogger years ago when I was first getting ready to teach high school. I remember setting it up in a hotel in Alabama because my parents and I had evacuated because of a hurricane and we had to go somewhere. We’d never been to Alabama, or that far West in Georgia, so it was a special trip that I remember because we had an impromptu vacation. We went to Best Buy to get an Ethernet cable to connect the Dell laptop to the hotel room port. This was the $3k laptop that smelled of new plastic and technology. (How I loved that thing.) it was a gift for graduating with my B.A. in English Literature at UCF. I really thought I was accomplished and was going to start off doing so well. Maybe I did, but I ended up not being a good high school teacher.
But no matter, the point is that I have longed for that pink blog again. The newness end the empty space to write all of my adventures down. That’s what I hope to do here with this one now.
The first of October seems as good of a time as any to start something new.
